New Farmer’s Market finds venue to share fresh food, support the local economy and build community north of 540!

 

There’s been a community buzz around the new North Raleigh Farmer’s Market. The North Raleigh Farmer’s Market will hold it’s Grand Opening on Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 8:00am-12:00pm in the Falls River Town Center, situated on Durant Road between Falls of the Neuse and Capital. The Grand Opening will feature a two-story shopping cart provided by North Carolina Department of Agriculture’s “Goodness Grows in North Carolina” Program, in addition to music, fun and food!

 

The North Raleigh Farmer’s Market will be held Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm and Wednesdays 4:00pm-7:00pm from May until the end of October. The market will feature a host of local farmers offering the finest in regionally grown produce, meats and other products.

 

The new site in the Falls River Town Center was approved by the NC Cooperative Extension on March 12, 2009. The community support for the farmer’s market at Falls River Town Center was overwhelming. Steven Elliot, owner of Falls River Books received over 1700 signatures by community residents in support of the market.

 

Falls River Town Center offers an array of specialty stores and services unique to the North Raleigh community. From home improvement, day spa treatments, jewelry, books, framing, dining to activities for children, the Falls River Town Center has something for everyone!

 

The Falls River Town Center will kick off their community events calendar with a Spring Fling: Dog Days of Spring on April 25, 2009 from 10:00am-3:00pm, prior to the opening of the North Raleigh Farmer’s Market.
