Today is Market Day and I just got a letter from Cane Creek Farm:

"Steven, Hope all is well.. We finally had a GOOD rain... Just wanted to let you know i will be at the Market today rain or shine... Today i will have Broccoli, green peas, sugar snap Peas, yellow squash, zucchini, onions, new Potatoes, cabbage, romaine and green leaf lettuce,Fresh eggs from happy chickens and probably something i have left out....
Saturday Cane Creek will have all the same with also our first green beans (Blue Lake, the best) ,Blue berries and probably more cauliflower.... As always if someone needs me to save them something because of being late to market or just to pre-order that is always OK.. Cane Creek Farms uses no pesticides, chemicals, etc on our produce, meat or eggs...Folks are always welcome here and should feel free to ask questions or voice concerns..

Thanks, Bobby Kirk

Farmers, we are certain that you will be successful at the North Raleigh Farmer's Market, but you may not be so sure. Therefore our market has established the one day "guest" option which allows you to try the market for one day to see if you are a good match for this thriving market. Contact Jackie Hudson, market manager, at hudfam4@aol.com, to get more information.

Wednesdays Market, May 9th 2009 05/06/2009

Our first Wednesday market was filled with tension and expectations. Our afternoon market takes place every Wednesday. What would the first market be like - a success, or a dud? That day at 3:20pm the sky was full of clouds and a massive storm erupted. Did we have to cancel the second day of the North Raleigh Farmer's Market? Luckily shortly before the 4pm opening the storm abruptly ceased. Despite a tornado warning, several hundred people braved the storm and the vendors were able to share the wares with their eager customers. Wednesday currently has less vendors than the Saturday "main event", but as an added extra treat some farmers come exclusively on Wednesday. Come check them and our other vendors out. ho came out Wednesday? Please share your comments.

The Opening Day of the North Raleigh Farmer's Market at Falls RIver Town Center was a resounding success. Over 3,000 people attended the market and were able to enjoy a wide variety of wares provided by our local farmers. The next Market day is Wednesday, May 6, 4:00pm - 7:00pm, and then Saturday morning, May 9th, 8am - Noon. Thank you to all the volunteers which made our opening possible.
